I bought this Dome from someone who bought it 18 months earlier and never did anything with it. It sat in my yard for 6 months until I decided to purchase the building to complete the observatory. I put it on my deck for better viewing above the trees, and it is only 10 feet from the house on those cold nights. It has the original plastic ring which is difficult to rotate. I will be replacing it soon with the new aluminum rings.
